11/29-12/3 Picture 1

It was just an ordinary day in the household of the boss. The tension was running extremely high because things were not the way they should be. Nate was upset because his mother would not make him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Nate was practically starving because he just got back from the gym where he exhausted himself in pilaties and yoga. Nate is working on his flexibility and wants to get in touch with his inner boss. The boss takes his workouts very serious because he doesn’t have a lot of time. His days are always booked to the max and only have limited time. This makes his workouts intense and what’s crazier than yoga. So Nate arrived back home and was about to collapse from his lack of energy. He loves to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because the peanut butter his high in protein and makes him look ripped. So as he laid there on his reclining chair he yelled to his mother. She would not answer to his call so he began to scream and throw a fit. Finally his mother grew impatient and went to answer his mindless screeches. She walked in the door and with a straight face yelled out, "what is your problem!?” Nate simply replied saying he is hungry and wants a sandwich. She continued to say she will not make him a sandwich and for him to get off his lazy butt and make one himself. Nate grew very angry at this point because his mother is the only one he will not stand up to. His eyes filled up with tears and his blood pumped with anger. The boss jumped out the chair, stormed down the stairs and screamed the whole way out of the house. He decided to take matters into his own hands and take himself out to eat for dinner. When he got into the ride he realized he didn’t even have a license. As Nate sat there in silence trying to figure out how to start the car he wondered if he would ever figure it out. Ten minutes later and more of his day wasted he found the ignition. Once the car started there was even a bigger problem. The boss had no idea how to make the vehicle actually move. He continued to look around until he found a lever that may solve the problem. For some reason he thought the letter "D" would lead him in the backwards direction. And as he pushed the peddle to the floor in anger, the car went the opposite way. He took off and drove right through the garage door. His rebel move got him five feet and back into the house. He somehow managed to put it in park and got out the vehicle. Right as he stood up his mom burst out the door and grabbed him by the ear. She dragged him into the house and made him clean the house and sit in the corner. All Nate could do is listen to the directions because he needed to follow the orders of his mother. His anger for his hunger got him nowhere and never ended up eating that night.

11/22-11/26 - fear bulids walls

The saying “fear builds walls”, has great meaning. It is very true in my eyes. There are many things that fear can do to a person. Fear has the tendency to manipulate many people. When someone gets scared of something it is very had to change their mind, and it sticks with them for a very long time. So you can say a wall was built in their mind. This wall blocks the individual from going forward and they cannot get anywhere in whatever it is there fear is for. It is common in many things. Many people cannot go to places they know they will get scared, such as haunted house because they have had a bad experience earlier in life. Or even in a tragic event such as a car accident where the person does not like to get in a vehicle or is very nervous while riding with others. This can also be seen in food. Some people eat food that they normally love but then get sick in the same day. So now think they got sick from that food, and eliminate that from their diet forever. They don’t get an appetite for that food anymore and the thought of it makes them sick. These examples show how fear in almost anything can build walls. These walls stop you from completing goals or just interrupt your daily routines. This means it is important to not let fear get in your way and find a different way to get around it. No one likes to have fear because it usually comes from something we don’t like.

11/15-11/19 Winning

Winning is something that could be so addictive and like a drug. Winning is one of the best feelings to some people and can influence them to go over the line sometimes. This could happen in many different ways. Some being just simply playing the sport and getting to rough and getting carried away, or you could get into the different side of winning and get involved in gambling. Many people get involved in gambling because of the great feeling of winning and get hooked. To me winning is just simply being the best. Some people say, well we were better we just made a few mistakes and that’s why we lost. That just means the total opposite. That means you’re not as good because they made fewer mistakes and know how to handle themselves better. Winning is a very important thing because it sets the tone for many things and can be very intimidating. Winning to me is very important. If I feel I have the opportunity to win I put everything into it and try to accomplish it. To me there is nothing better than wining in anything. If you’re not the winner it means simply you’re not the best and you need to get better. To be a winner is to be the champion. Being a winner shows you have the skill no one else has and can represent it when needed. It shows you have worked hard whether it was practicing or training. There must have been a solid deal of dedication and heart into whatever it is and carried you as far as you got. Winning is simply the best thing to me in any competition. I hate to lose and will dread it for a long time. Even the smallest competitions that mean nothing don’t feel good when lost..

11/15-11/19 I am Thankful For...

In life I am thankful for many things. Some of the biggest I’m thankful for are having a wonderful family, caring friends, and the opportunities to be successful. Family is very important to me and without them I would be nothing. Family is very inspirational and can motivate you and talk you up at any time. It is important to have a close family that way you can communicate well and everything works out a lot nicer. I appreciate how my family is involved in what I do and cares about my decisions. This way, they can use their knowledge in life and help guide me and teach me if necessary. Another amazing thing I’m thankful for is caring friends. This is very important to me because friends are a lot easier to express things to sometimes and can help you out at any time because you have numerous people to go to. A caring friend can be classified as a best friend because they take the time to hear what you have to say discuss it with you. They try to help you make the best decision possible to benefit you. Lastly all the opportunities presented to me to help me be successful are well appreciated. For example, having a chance to get a great education, having a home, having food and a positive environment to grow up in will benefit me in the future. There are many people out in the world that do not have these great opportunities we have here. Many of those people would give anything to have what many of us take for granted every day. My parents did a lot to get me to this stage and I am appreciative for it all. They have done a great job and gave me many goals.

What is your favorite Holiday?...11/15-11/19

All the holidays are full of great times and different events. When thinking about them all it is difficult to determine which have a greater impact on you. Maybe some are influenced based on religion, or simply just based on what the rest of their family does. Being around your parents all the time has a huge impact on what your choices are in life and their decisions usually reflect yours. But my favorite holiday is probably like many other children, Christmas. I didn't pick Christmas just because of the presents received but because of all the joy dealing with the day. On Christmas it's always cold and snowy, and the whole family gathers in the warm house and talks and eats. The gift part of the holiday can also bring joy to you though. This is because when you present someone with a gift and you see their reaction. It warms your heart to know they are happy and enjoy your giving. For Christmas my mom and I go out and find a tree for the house. Every year we cut one down, set it up in the house and decorate it. At this time it is fun because you get to look through all the Christmas decorations, and the memories of the past years start to be remembered. Normal there is snow on the ground and it is very nice when traveling to other families houses. The scene is great and the ride is much better. It’s virtually impossible to not be in a good mood while all this is going on. And if you are, your family will be sure to brighten your day. When the house is hectic filled with relatives, you can take a breather outside and build a snowman or have a snowball fight.

11/8-11/12 Quotes

Inspirational quotes are said everywhere and are taken many ways. Some are just thrown out there and fly right by people heads. But others stick and can help you work harder and accomplish a goal for the future. One of these quotes that stick out to me are, “the only real failure in life is the failure to try” –Unknown. This quote means a lot because it is exactly true. If you do not try you will never know if you were going to succeed or if it was possible, and that is failure without even anything getting in the way. Another quote that grabs my attention is, “dream as you will live forever. Live as you will die today”-James Dean. This quote is very inspirational because it has to do with death, and the possibility of losing everything. The idea of the quote is to motivate you to try new things and always put your heart and soul into it. This is because later in life you may not receive another opportunity and you will look back and wish you could do more. Lastly, the quote, “it’s not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes a difference”- Paul Bryant. This describes that to succeed in anything you will need not only a mind set on winning or accomplishing your goal, but to work hard, practice, study or do whatever is needed to make sure you will. With practice there is only room for improvement, and you will be moving closer to your goal.

11/8-11/12 Lunch witth the Dead

Have you ever just wondered what it would be like if you lived in a different time period and could meet someone famous or well known in that era. It would definitely be a once in a lifetime experience and would be remembered for the rest of your life. If I could sit down with three people that are dead now they would have to be George Washington, Billy Mays, and Tupac Shakur. You might think that this is a weird combination but they were well thought out choices and are the best I could come up with. I think it would be amazing to sit down and have a conversation with the first president of the United States. It would be an honor to learn about his experiences and how he dealt with everything. It must have been hard to participate as the first president without any past references to look back on. But at the same time it could be easier because he could just play it how it went and go with the flow. Billy Mays would be nice also because he passed away without any warning. Being able to converse about his lifestyle and how everything was going would also be an experience. Tupac Shakur would definitely have some educational information to tell me. If we sat down and got to talk I would ask about his career and how the world was back then in the hip hop and rap industry. The question about his death would obviously be brought up and me wanting to know how and why everything happened.

11/8-11/12 Thanksgiving

My family and I celebrate Thanksgiving pretty simple and laid back. We don’t do anything over the top or huge. Not many of our family members get together. Usually it’s only me my sister and my mother. It’s nice because we can all fit easily and there is more food for everyone. We all meet at my mom’s house and eat around noon. My mom wakes up early and starts to get the food ready. As the food cooks the smell of the house is great. We eat the usual meal on thanks giving with turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. There are always the sides of rolls and vegetables, and much more. I always load up my plate and try to eat as much as possible. At the end of the dinner we clean up and start to put the food way. This is the worst part because you’re all stuffed and just want to lie down and rest. But you can’t and have to clean the dishes and wrap the food and put it away. What’s nice about all the left over is that it means plenty of turkey sandwiches for the future. Thanksgiving is such a warm atmosphere and a great time to get the family together. It’s a happy holiday were everyone is excited for the food and can’t wait to eat the turkey. For some reason it is special on thanksgiving even though you can cook it whenever you want.

11/1-11/5- R.E.S.P.E.C.T

Respect is a word that can have many meanings to it, but all the possible meanings are deep with thought. It’s important to understand what respect means and why it is important. People interpret the word respect in many different ways. The definition of respect is to show regard or consideration for something. This means you show you care, listen and can be responsible. It's important that you don't ruin the respect between another individual because it is very essential for any relationship or friendship. Without respect there is no friendship, only frustration and anger. No one wants to be around someone you have no regard for what they say or do. If you are a respectful person you will acknowledge what other people have to present and will not challenge there authority. For example, talking while another is talking is disrespectful. Along with not following directions someone has given you, especially if they are at a higher level of you such as a teacher. The easiest way to lose respect for an individual is to lie to them. If you decide to lie to someone you are taking a huge risk that isn’t right in the first place. When caught in a lie there is no trust involved, and you won’t have that part of you known as respect acknowledged. Anger is not necessary for something so easy to do. Just be courteous to others and keep the feelings of others in mind and your respect will remain in others.

11/1-11/5 Job Dream

My dream job would be something that I really enjoy participating in and doesn’t matter if I make money or not. If I had the opportunity to choose any career in the entire universe I would have to pick being a professional athlete. To be in the Olympics as a Sprinter and competing in meets all around the world would be amazing. Traveling and visiting all the places would be an experience. Competition would always be present and it could never get boring. I would obviously like the fame and being among the best in the world, but just doing a sport I love to do and getting paid for it would be incredible. The art of doing what you want besides training and practices seems like a great lifestyle. You would be seen as a role model all around the world with children and teenagers looking up to you wishing like us now that they can compete in something so special. An example is Usain Bolt. Bolt was always an outstanding athlete in track and field and has risen to be the fastest sprinter in the world. His lifestyle has to be the awesome and full of excitement. I bet everyday he is happy besides family issues and such because he is training and competing to remain the best in the world. Being a Sprinter in the Olympics would be my dream job. I would cherish everyday being able to compete in my favorite sport and make money along the way.
