While sitting in this class we call online publishing many things happen and are accomplished. I try to get my work done as quickly as possible so i have time to work on other things, but this never works. I always find myself slacking and getting caught up in things rather than completing my assignments for the day. Things that are easy to distract me are games and videos. Games are always fun to play and it is difficult to access them because the school decides to block them. So, most of the time I like to search for games which can take a while and since YouTube is also blocked most of the time it is very hard to watch videos you’d like. But we still find them somehow and i get caught up in the moment. Music is the number one thing that distracts me because i am always updating my playlist. I have to make sure i have the music going the entire time or else i have to stop what I’m working on to visit the groove shark webpage and search for a song i like. But when I’m not losing track of time by things on the computer, I am simple distracted by the conversations going on in the classroom. Where i sit, Brian gets bullied very often and it is interesting to see his reaction. He has started to become more abusive and is taking revenge by relieving his anger on Nate Baily and his brother Tyler Stoldt. Occasionally there are arguments and many incidents of complaining. It is very easy to be picked on in this class because anything you say can be turned against you. Mr. Currin likes to give his opinion often and makes the class interesting by creating moments. This is what consists of my day in online publishing and the reasons why I fall behind during the week.

Cell phones are a major part of life in America today. Everywhere you look someone is walking around with their phone out and is talking to someone else. It is easy to see younger generations are starting to become more informed with technology. All the cell phones are more compact and smaller, which makes them easier to carry; this is a lot more convenient for the customers and creates more sales. Now every phone is equipped with a camera so it is easy to take pictures and record video at any moment. This is more convenient because now extra luggage such as cameras and video cameras are not needed; you can have three simple tasks in one item. Cell phones have many features which make them very attractive to others. In case you want to communicate with others you can instantly send a text message or give them a call. Also, sending a picture or video is very nice because you can show a friend or family something from long distance. The phones are also equipped with features such as gps to navigate your way around. This is popular for many people who are interested in traveling and spend much of their time out and about. Cell phones have increased extremely over the past few years and will continue to be popular for a long time. They have made many tasks easy and improved means of communication significantly. Many people believe cell phones are no good but the pros definitely over power the cons. No one is going to turn down a device that can easily fit inside your hand and can almost do the things a basic desktop computer can do. There is no way cell phone use will decrease any time soon and will continue to thrive for years.

12/20-12/24 #3
This past weekend I drove with a few friends out to RIT. I have been waiting all winter for their open track meets to start so I can have a chance to run. Since we don’t have indoor track here it is a great opportunity and simulates an indoor meet. I like the meets because it gets me in shape and lets me practice on my form and technique. I mainly focus on the hurdles at these meets. The hurdles are my best individual event and have been improving my time over the years. Last year at this meet my best time was an 8.4 and this year I ran a 7.9 already for the first week with 6 months off. That is great improvement and can be better with more practice leading into the outdoor season. I am extremely excited for the upcoming track season and can’t wait to be together with my friends. Our 4x100 relay of me Jordan, Alex and Dakota has been extremely successful over the years and only lost one race last year. We are looking to improve our times and win every race we attend. It will be a great season and I am excited to see how the state meet goes. Last year our 4x100 relay made it so we are hoping to attend it again. I am also intending to participate in the hurdles at the state meet which is likely going to happen. I know I have improved and wasn’t far off last year. It will be a wonderful year. To improve my speed and technique I am going to continue attending the weight room and lift for my legs. I need to work on some cardio so I can have some endurance, and also practice with a hurdle to improve my flexibility and form. Form is one of the most important things in running or any event and can a significant effect on your performance.

Smile Virus
By Russel H. Conwell
Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling, too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin
when he smiled, I realized I'd passed it on to him!
I thought about that smile and then realized its worth,
a single smile, just like mine, could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected,
let's start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected!
I find this poem very interesting. I really enjoy it because it makes me laugh. The poem is very true in my eyes that this actually does happen. The poem is describing how smiles are seen throughout the day and whenever you see them you are instantly happy. The poem continues in saying it is a wonderful thing and you should not ignore it, while passing it around to others. The end rhyme is very catchy and amusing to me. The idea is very true because I experience this all the time. I occasionally will walk down the hall throughout the day in school and come across a friend who says hello and smiles. It is almost impossible to not smile after seeing someone so happy towards you. This can only be done if you are in an extremely terrible mood and are not going to be nice to anyone. I enjoy the excitement throughout the poem and the bright mood it portrays. It is important to show happiness towards people to give them a general positive idea of you. Imagine the world if no one walked around and said hello while smiling. There would be no happiness and many more people would be depressed. This poem also makes me think about how great these things make me feel. I love when someone approaches me in a great mood and has something to talk about. There wonderful moods definitely brush off onto me and so on. The poem is definitely true in my eyes.

Beauty is a universal definition that can be identified in many different ways. The eyes of everyone find beauty in a significant way. It is something that captures their attention and attracts them to it. Beauty can be found in an object animals, or even people. A person gets attracted by an overall look and finds it perfect. When I think of beauty I think of a wonderful view and atmosphere. Such as looking out to the sky with a perfect sunset and the temperature is perfect and everything surrounding the day is perfect. Beauty is not something that is just pure looks. You can make anything look great and means nothing. Beauty is shown when you don’t have to change or alter anything while it remains perfect and significantly great while untouched. Things that are beautiful that people often agree on are another person, like a new born baby. They find it perfect and innocent. Also people see beauty in art work. They look at the piece of art and are attracted to all the elements of it. This is completely what I feel beauty is. It has to have every distinguishing quality you find interesting and appealing to you. I find it that beauty can be found anywhere and is a great thing to see. It makes you happy because it is something that is attractive to you. There has to be perfection and many features that attribute to the overall group. It is a psychological perspective that is different for everyone, and is dependent on your likes and dislikes. Beauty is a wonderful gift and should be portrayed in many ways to all sorts of people. It is commonly compared to ugliness which is the opposite. Ugliness is less attractive things that are not pleasant to be around.

12/13-12/17 Blog 1
While being a part of this online publishing class we have created many individual pieces or writing. Most of these pieces are featured in the blogs we right every week. We are assigned three blogs each week on different topics. Also, we are given to articles to write on a topic based off the school activities or programs which are shown on the school website called the Bulldog. While being in this class I have learned much about me as a writer. I have learned that I am much more interested in writing about topics I am interested in. I have also noticed it is much easier to think of topics when you get to choose. We are able to pick most of the topics we write about and the blogs are ideas that most of us students would think about. My writing process is pretty simple. I brainstorm what I would like to write so I get a basic idea laid out. After that I start to write the paper and be as creative as possible. This can be done by using a wide variety of words and vocabulary. After writing I quickly revise be reading it over and see if there are any mistakes. Once done I finalize it and no further changes are made. I enjoy writing about anything that relates to me. This can be sports or holidays or anything dealing with school. Things I don’t like to write about are boring topics such as lawn gnomes, flowers, and art. This class has increased my ability to be productive with writing. Since we are writing for the bulldog which is a link on the school web page, other people are allowed to access this site and view the articles. This is great because it gets our writing out to the public where people can complement and comment on your thoughts.

lawn gnomes
It was just an ordinary day when I was outside gardening. I was in the back yard on my hands and knees planting seeds. I was doing a wonderful job until I was interrupted by a little faint whisper. I looked over and was frightened when I saw a little garden gnome staring at me. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. But as I wiped my eyes repeatedly I realized he was actually standing there. All of a sudden his mouth began to move and I could hear his faint voice start to explain his issue. He started by apologizing because he and his buddy gnomes have been messing around in the garden and ruining my famous crops. They were very sorry that they have ruined some of my amazing vegetables and that most of my garden was ruined. He continued to go on and ask if there was anything they could do to help because they want to give credit back to the garden. I forgave them and agreed with them that it was best if they help me finish planting. So they reached into the bag of seeds and went down the line planting the seeds one by one. They did a wonderful job in helping and definitely made it go by faster. I was pleased with their effort and they were happy that I forgave them. I told them that they can come around whenever they like and can help out whenever. The gnome took off and my garden was complete.

12/6-12-10 Game
As a child and growing up my friends and I would get together and play many games. One of the games I enjoyed the most is hide and seek. Everyone knows how to play hide and seek and it is a lot of fun. We would all get together at my house and wait until it got dark outside. Once it was nighttime we would begin to play. We would pick someone to be “it” first and have them go into the center of the yard and count to 50. This gave everyone else enough time to run away and find a descent place to hide. It was important to make sure the counter was not peeking because that would ruin the game and not be fair to the rest. Once the person was done counting they would get up and start searching for the friends. But in this hide and seek, once you were found it wasn’t over. You had time to run to the safe spot where you couldn’t be tagged by the person looking. The safe spot was in the center of the yard and was a tree. If you made it to the tree before you got tagged it was great because you didn’t have to be it. Who ever got tagged would be it and have to repeat it all over again. This was a lot of fun as a child while hanging out with my friends and having so much time in the summer. It would be very interesting to play now and see how it would turn out.
12/6-12-10 TV Show
While growing up there were many shows I enjoyed watching that I think back to now. It seems like i would really enjoy watching them now and if they were on television again. All the shows and cartoons in my childhood were creative and funny. The one that stuck out the most to me was "Rocket Power". This show was about a group of four kids who go through everyday activities. Most of their lives consist of sports and school. They go to school and face all the problems in the world as being a younger kid. But once they are free they enjoy participating in all their sports such as rollerblading, skateboarding, mountain biking, louge, and hockey. Otto, the main character is a cocky boy who is very confident in his skills in sports. He is very talented and the best of the friends and in that area of town. The group of friends live in California and hangout on the ocean shores. Many of the episodes featured them surfing and doing many things on the beach. I used to spend a lot of time watching these episodes because I was very interested in all the extreme sports they competed in. Also, the characters faced many challenges any individual faces in real life which relates it to your own. This made it more interesting and added to the action of the show. I’m kind of disappointed that the show no longer airs on television because I would definitely enjoy watching it again.

11/29-12/3 Whats art?
Art is everywhere. It simply can be in any form and almost anything you’d like. To many it’s defined as a drawing or a sculpture, but art can be represented in many other things. Some of these being photos, collage, or just some stuff you gathered to make something that looks creative. Art is not simply drawing a picture but showing your creativity through objects. It's interesting to see all the things and materials artists use to make something. Some of the materials you may have never thought could be used in that. This is why so many people who have liking for art are so into it. There are so many different ways to present it and to make it your own. When you can make art work that has meaning to yourself it is more intriguing to others. Many people have different views of what art is to them. Some could see a piece of artwork that is worth hundreds of dollars and think it's junk. To create art people have many different ways that suit them best. Some people like to just wander around the streets and just see what kind of art is in everyday public. While others would rather sit at home or in a room and listen to music and go with the flow of what they are hearing. Art is all in the mind and how creative you are. You need to use your imagination to put together some sort of idea or picture with whatever materials you would like. You don’t even have to have a nice flow to create art and be smooth. Sculptures and collages are all considered wonderful pieces of art and have jagged edges and texture. Different elements such as texture color and gradient and even shade are all essential to your work.

11/29-12/3 pic 2

The reason I chose this picture is that I have no idea what is going on in this picture. It looks to me as if some people had way too much time on their hands. Or maybe there is simply just something wrong with this man. What could possibly be going on in your mind to make you construct some sort of piece for this activity? You can tell it is poorly made and is very dangerous for the spectators who must have no life which came to watch. What attracted me was how the man was crazy enough to hang out the window of this car somehow balancing on the make shift wall built. There must be some reason for this activity going on but the world may never find out. I feel this picture is very amusing and would be even better to see in person. This guy obviously looks very hilarious and could easily entertain you. There is a large enough audience to show that it draws attention and is a popular event. I’m not sure the purpose but it sure looks as if it is going to fall apart. I wish there was some sort of inspection for this bowl of some sort because I fear for the safety of the viewers. All there is to save them is some rickety old fence that is about to fall over. I find myself interested in how he manages to get the car started to perform in some position like that because the wooden bowl he is driving in is fairly small. It looks like the car could not start from the bottom so it must always be on an angle driving. This man might be like one of those carnival workers, that have all those secrets to their games and the whole thing is fake. We may never know the truth to this picture

11/29-12/3 Picture 1

It was just an ordinary day in the household of the boss. The tension was running extremely high because things were not the way they should be. Nate was upset because his mother would not make him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Nate was practically starving because he just got back from the gym where he exhausted himself in pilaties and yoga. Nate is working on his flexibility and wants to get in touch with his inner boss. The boss takes his workouts very serious because he doesn’t have a lot of time. His days are always booked to the max and only have limited time. This makes his workouts intense and what’s crazier than yoga. So Nate arrived back home and was about to collapse from his lack of energy. He loves to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because the peanut butter his high in protein and makes him look ripped. So as he laid there on his reclining chair he yelled to his mother. She would not answer to his call so he began to scream and throw a fit. Finally his mother grew impatient and went to answer his mindless screeches. She walked in the door and with a straight face yelled out, "what is your problem!?” Nate simply replied saying he is hungry and wants a sandwich. She continued to say she will not make him a sandwich and for him to get off his lazy butt and make one himself. Nate grew very angry at this point because his mother is the only one he will not stand up to. His eyes filled up with tears and his blood pumped with anger. The boss jumped out the chair, stormed down the stairs and screamed the whole way out of the house. He decided to take matters into his own hands and take himself out to eat for dinner. When he got into the ride he realized he didn’t even have a license. As Nate sat there in silence trying to figure out how to start the car he wondered if he would ever figure it out. Ten minutes later and more of his day wasted he found the ignition. Once the car started there was even a bigger problem. The boss had no idea how to make the vehicle actually move. He continued to look around until he found a lever that may solve the problem. For some reason he thought the letter "D" would lead him in the backwards direction. And as he pushed the peddle to the floor in anger, the car went the opposite way. He took off and drove right through the garage door. His rebel move got him five feet and back into the house. He somehow managed to put it in park and got out the vehicle. Right as he stood up his mom burst out the door and grabbed him by the ear. She dragged him into the house and made him clean the house and sit in the corner. All Nate could do is listen to the directions because he needed to follow the orders of his mother. His anger for his hunger got him nowhere and never ended up eating that night.

11/22-11/26 - fear bulids walls
The saying “fear builds walls”, has great meaning. It is very true in my eyes. There are many things that fear can do to a person. Fear has the tendency to manipulate many people. When someone gets scared of something it is very had to change their mind, and it sticks with them for a very long time. So you can say a wall was built in their mind. This wall blocks the individual from going forward and they cannot get anywhere in whatever it is there fear is for. It is common in many things. Many people cannot go to places they know they will get scared, such as haunted house because they have had a bad experience earlier in life. Or even in a tragic event such as a car accident where the person does not like to get in a vehicle or is very nervous while riding with others. This can also be seen in food. Some people eat food that they normally love but then get sick in the same day. So now think they got sick from that food, and eliminate that from their diet forever. They don’t get an appetite for that food anymore and the thought of it makes them sick. These examples show how fear in almost anything can build walls. These walls stop you from completing goals or just interrupt your daily routines. This means it is important to not let fear get in your way and find a different way to get around it. No one likes to have fear because it usually comes from something we don’t like.

11/15-11/19 Winning
Winning is something that could be so addictive and like a drug. Winning is one of the best feelings to some people and can influence them to go over the line sometimes. This could happen in many different ways. Some being just simply playing the sport and getting to rough and getting carried away, or you could get into the different side of winning and get involved in gambling. Many people get involved in gambling because of the great feeling of winning and get hooked. To me winning is just simply being the best. Some people say, well we were better we just made a few mistakes and that’s why we lost. That just means the total opposite. That means you’re not as good because they made fewer mistakes and know how to handle themselves better. Winning is a very important thing because it sets the tone for many things and can be very intimidating. Winning to me is very important. If I feel I have the opportunity to win I put everything into it and try to accomplish it. To me there is nothing better than wining in anything. If you’re not the winner it means simply you’re not the best and you need to get better. To be a winner is to be the champion. Being a winner shows you have the skill no one else has and can represent it when needed. It shows you have worked hard whether it was practicing or training. There must have been a solid deal of dedication and heart into whatever it is and carried you as far as you got. Winning is simply the best thing to me in any competition. I hate to lose and will dread it for a long time. Even the smallest competitions that mean nothing don’t feel good when lost..
11/15-11/19 I am Thankful For...
In life I am thankful for many things. Some of the biggest I’m thankful for are having a wonderful family, caring friends, and the opportunities to be successful. Family is very important to me and without them I would be nothing. Family is very inspirational and can motivate you and talk you up at any time. It is important to have a close family that way you can communicate well and everything works out a lot nicer. I appreciate how my family is involved in what I do and cares about my decisions. This way, they can use their knowledge in life and help guide me and teach me if necessary. Another amazing thing I’m thankful for is caring friends. This is very important to me because friends are a lot easier to express things to sometimes and can help you out at any time because you have numerous people to go to. A caring friend can be classified as a best friend because they take the time to hear what you have to say discuss it with you. They try to help you make the best decision possible to benefit you. Lastly all the opportunities presented to me to help me be successful are well appreciated. For example, having a chance to get a great education, having a home, having food and a positive environment to grow up in will benefit me in the future. There are many people out in the world that do not have these great opportunities we have here. Many of those people would give anything to have what many of us take for granted every day. My parents did a lot to get me to this stage and I am appreciative for it all. They have done a great job and gave me many goals.

What is your favorite Holiday?...11/15-11/19
All the holidays are full of great times and different events. When thinking about them all it is difficult to determine which have a greater impact on you. Maybe some are influenced based on religion, or simply just based on what the rest of their family does. Being around your parents all the time has a huge impact on what your choices are in life and their decisions usually reflect yours. But my favorite holiday is probably like many other children, Christmas. I didn't pick Christmas just because of the presents received but because of all the joy dealing with the day. On Christmas it's always cold and snowy, and the whole family gathers in the warm house and talks and eats. The gift part of the holiday can also bring joy to you though. This is because when you present someone with a gift and you see their reaction. It warms your heart to know they are happy and enjoy your giving. For Christmas my mom and I go out and find a tree for the house. Every year we cut one down, set it up in the house and decorate it. At this time it is fun because you get to look through all the Christmas decorations, and the memories of the past years start to be remembered. Normal there is snow on the ground and it is very nice when traveling to other families houses. The scene is great and the ride is much better. It’s virtually impossible to not be in a good mood while all this is going on. And if you are, your family will be sure to brighten your day. When the house is hectic filled with relatives, you can take a breather outside and build a snowman or have a snowball fight.

11/8-11/12 Quotes
Inspirational quotes are said everywhere and are taken many ways. Some are just thrown out there and fly right by people heads. But others stick and can help you work harder and accomplish a goal for the future. One of these quotes that stick out to me are, “the only real failure in life is the failure to try” –Unknown. This quote means a lot because it is exactly true. If you do not try you will never know if you were going to succeed or if it was possible, and that is failure without even anything getting in the way. Another quote that grabs my attention is, “dream as you will live forever. Live as you will die today”-James Dean. This quote is very inspirational because it has to do with death, and the possibility of losing everything. The idea of the quote is to motivate you to try new things and always put your heart and soul into it. This is because later in life you may not receive another opportunity and you will look back and wish you could do more. Lastly, the quote, “it’s not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes a difference”- Paul Bryant. This describes that to succeed in anything you will need not only a mind set on winning or accomplishing your goal, but to work hard, practice, study or do whatever is needed to make sure you will. With practice there is only room for improvement, and you will be moving closer to your goal.
11/8-11/12 Lunch witth the Dead
Have you ever just wondered what it would be like if you lived in a different time period and could meet someone famous or well known in that era. It would definitely be a once in a lifetime experience and would be remembered for the rest of your life. If I could sit down with three people that are dead now they would have to be George Washington, Billy Mays, and Tupac Shakur. You might think that this is a weird combination but they were well thought out choices and are the best I could come up with. I think it would be amazing to sit down and have a conversation with the first president of the United States. It would be an honor to learn about his experiences and how he dealt with everything. It must have been hard to participate as the first president without any past references to look back on. But at the same time it could be easier because he could just play it how it went and go with the flow. Billy Mays would be nice also because he passed away without any warning. Being able to converse about his lifestyle and how everything was going would also be an experience. Tupac Shakur would definitely have some educational information to tell me. If we sat down and got to talk I would ask about his career and how the world was back then in the hip hop and rap industry. The question about his death would obviously be brought up and me wanting to know how and why everything happened.
11/8-11/12 Thanksgiving
My family and I celebrate Thanksgiving pretty simple and laid back. We don’t do anything over the top or huge. Not many of our family members get together. Usually it’s only me my sister and my mother. It’s nice because we can all fit easily and there is more food for everyone. We all meet at my mom’s house and eat around noon. My mom wakes up early and starts to get the food ready. As the food cooks the smell of the house is great. We eat the usual meal on thanks giving with turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. There are always the sides of rolls and vegetables, and much more. I always load up my plate and try to eat as much as possible. At the end of the dinner we clean up and start to put the food way. This is the worst part because you’re all stuffed and just want to lie down and rest. But you can’t and have to clean the dishes and wrap the food and put it away. What’s nice about all the left over is that it means plenty of turkey sandwiches for the future. Thanksgiving is such a warm atmosphere and a great time to get the family together. It’s a happy holiday were everyone is excited for the food and can’t wait to eat the turkey. For some reason it is special on thanksgiving even though you can cook it whenever you want.

11/1-11/5- R.E.S.P.E.C.T
Respect is a word that can have many meanings to it, but all the possible meanings are deep with thought. It’s important to understand what respect means and why it is important. People interpret the word respect in many different ways. The definition of respect is to show regard or consideration for something. This means you show you care, listen and can be responsible. It's important that you don't ruin the respect between another individual because it is very essential for any relationship or friendship. Without respect there is no friendship, only frustration and anger. No one wants to be around someone you have no regard for what they say or do. If you are a respectful person you will acknowledge what other people have to present and will not challenge there authority. For example, talking while another is talking is disrespectful. Along with not following directions someone has given you, especially if they are at a higher level of you such as a teacher. The easiest way to lose respect for an individual is to lie to them. If you decide to lie to someone you are taking a huge risk that isn’t right in the first place. When caught in a lie there is no trust involved, and you won’t have that part of you known as respect acknowledged. Anger is not necessary for something so easy to do. Just be courteous to others and keep the feelings of others in mind and your respect will remain in others.

11/1-11/5 Job Dream
My dream job would be something that I really enjoy participating in and doesn’t matter if I make money or not. If I had the opportunity to choose any career in the entire universe I would have to pick being a professional athlete. To be in the Olympics as a Sprinter and competing in meets all around the world would be amazing. Traveling and visiting all the places would be an experience. Competition would always be present and it could never get boring. I would obviously like the fame and being among the best in the world, but just doing a sport I love to do and getting paid for it would be incredible. The art of doing what you want besides training and practices seems like a great lifestyle. You would be seen as a role model all around the world with children and teenagers looking up to you wishing like us now that they can compete in something so special. An example is Usain Bolt. Bolt was always an outstanding athlete in track and field and has risen to be the fastest sprinter in the world. His lifestyle has to be the awesome and full of excitement. I bet everyday he is happy besides family issues and such because he is training and competing to remain the best in the world. Being a Sprinter in the Olympics would be my dream job. I would cherish everyday being able to compete in my favorite sport and make money along the way.

10/25-10/29-Hilarious incid3nt
Recently there have been many hilarious incidents, most of the participating in school. But the one that sticks out the most happen recently this week, actually yesterday. It was first block of school while we were in Phys. Ed. Class. We all played ultimate Frisbee and when the class was over rushed to get into the locker room. While showering after Gym Class we were all in rush because we were held late already. Out of nowhere the fire alarm goes off. While we all stood in the shower covered in soap suds the look of confusion spread across all our faces. No one knew what we should do. It was not like they train us for situations like that at all, so we stood there speechless. All of us consisting of Nate Bailey, Ty Stoldt, Steve Anstett, Nick Foss, Chase Huston, Dakota Peel , and Nick Orlowski had to start screaming because we were entirely out of control. We couldn’t keep ourselves under control because we had no idea what to do. I was completely soaked and covered in soap and there was no way to just throw on some shorts and head outside. So after contemplating what we should do, which seem like an eternity, we started to dry off and throw our shorts and shirts on. There were a lot of confused faces out there as to what was going on until Mr. Carll walked in and yelled for us to get our thing on and go out the door. We started to walk in the gym, and of course still screaming because it was clearly the funniest thing ever, when Mr. Macowan walked into the gym screaming the cut it out and asking what we were thinking. After hearing that, we got ourselves under control and went out the side doors. By that time it was too late and the drill was already over. It’s hard to say if we would have survived if it was a real fire. We acted late in the evacuation process but if we stayed in the shower we could have fought the flames off for a few more minutes of our lives.

10/25-10/29 Ryans freetime
I seem as if every day we find something to talk about dealing with Ryan Pinkowski in our Online Publishing class. It ranges from his style of music he likes, to him never getting any work done in class, which brings us back to his music. He likes to listen to music during class which takes a lot of time away for other important things such as articles and blogs. But the question given this week happens to revolve around a blog. One of the blogs is about what do you think Ryan Pinkowski does in his free time. I wonder if he will complete this blog even when it is about himself. I would be very disappointed in him for passing over an easy opportunity to receive a grade. But let’s get to the question of the blog. The question states, what you think Ryan Pinkowski does on his free time. If I had to imagine what he would do it would start with work. I know he works at Carbone’s Pizzeria so a lot of his time is accounted for there. But when not at work I could see him listening to some music at home or out with a friend doing something entertaining. I don’t think his life away from school is out of the ordinary or different in anyway. I could be very wrong though. I don’t spend a lot of time with him so I could not tell you exactly what he actually does. It could be something so strange that you may cry when you find out what he actually does, or even amazed that he might help cats stuck in trees or something. I guess we will never know what actually happens in Ryan’s free time unless you spend the day with him or you enter his mind somehow.
10/25-10/29 Who Do I Look Up To?
If I had to pick someone in this class to look up to, or even in the school, it would have to be Nate Bailey (AKA The Boss). You might say Nate Bailey is just another student here at Alden Senior High School, but that statement happens to be false. Since Nate is a Boss anything is possible including things that you can’t even think of. Boss’ make things happen. Given the reason I look up to him. For example, since Nate is a boss he is able to do pretty much whatever he wants. It must be nice to go around and do what you want when you want and talk back to your parents. Since Nate Bailey was born a Boss he has nothing to worry about for his entire life. I wish my life could be laid out like that already. Things would be much easier that way. There are a limited number of Boss’ in the world today and it is not easy to accomplish such a magnificent goal. You’re either born a Boss or you are named one by another. So you can’t just go around calling yourself a Boss. I bet everyone looks up to a Boss like Nate Bailey because of how easy his life style is. If he’s hungry he just yells down stairs for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. And when his mother brings it up, he complains about not having any milk. So she goes back down stairs and pours him a cup. Life in general will be so much easier for me if I was like Nate. I would be able to do everything and always be in control. Nate’s ego is another thing to look up to. How could you not want to be like someone who talks to them self in the third person and is admired by himself and others.

9/27-10/1 Places Recentley Visited
One of the coolest places I have been recently has got to be Wal-Mart. But don't take it as just your normal Wal-Mart. This is the new one that had just opened up this month in Lancaster. I guess you can say it has pretty much the same items in it as any other Wal-Mart, but there are many difference's still. For example, this new and exciting place has new shiny floors. There so new and clean, that you can practically see yourself in the reflection. The lights were extremely bright and seemed like heaven from what I heard. It must have been just because there is no dust covering them. It's weird, I mean, you just walk around and get the feeling that this place is cool. You realize that this store just opened and you're actually like the first people to shop in it. How many people can possibly say they did that? My bet is that there are not a lot. You have to be pretty important to get an opportunity like that. I had so much fun walking around that store. There was so much variety to check out. You could go on one side of the store and look at a bottle of Ranch salad dressing, or go to the other and listen to the tracks on the latest Britney Spears CD. The best part about this trip that I call an adventure is that we ended up leaving without buying a single thing.
9/27-10/1- Favorite Season
My favorite season would definitely have to be summer. This is obvious in my mind for many reasons. One totally consisting based off the weather. The summer weather is just perfect for everything you do. I love the heat, and how the sun is so bright and warm all the time. You can lay out and get a tan for free! How amazing is that, you don't even need to go to a tanning place and pay money. Just the fact of being outside is a great feeling. It's hard to go outside on a bright sunny day and not be in a good mood. As you look around at the scenery, the view is amazing. The green vegetation and full trees spread across the horizon while the wind blows, and all the colors seem so bright. There's wildlife everywhere, and can hear it almost all around you. Also, since the summer weather is so warm, there are numerous ideas of things to do. You can swim, which is almost impossible in any other season because it's so cold outside. Any kind of game such as soccer or football is great to play with the dry ground and warm atmosphere. Concerts are nice in the summer along with camping and other outdoor events. Summer in my eyes is the best season. It's perfect to do practically anything you want, minus anything dealing with snow!Friday, September 24, 2010

9/13-9/17 #1

It was just like every other day in Kansas. There were eight wicked tornadoes tearing across the state. Block by block, the tornadoes shredded through houses, and sent citizens skidding down the street. I watched frantically as I tried to figure out what to do. As I ran in circles frightened for my life, I got nothing accomplished. With the windows rattling, I looked out and saw my barn fly by and take out the neighbor's kitchen. The tornados headed closer, and I decided to go hide under the covers on my bed. It was the safest place I could think of, and was going to wait it out. The sounds grew louder, and all of a sudden the whole house shook. All the walls were being ripped off and blown across the neighborhood. I tried to run away but was swept off my feet and tossed around in the air with the remaining parts of my house. I repeatidly got smacked around by debris as I flew through the air waiting for the painful impact. The ground was a few feet away, and i closed my eyes. Right as i was about to hit the ground, the couch swooped in and cushioned my landing. I was so grateful and fortunate for this opportunity. I stood up and walked away with the tornadoes trailing behind.

9/13-9/17 # 3
It was a dark mysterious night, and I was wandering outside. As I strolled around my backyard I noticed the winds building up, and the sky growing darker. All the clouds rolling in over the hills were extremely dark and about to let lose all the rain. But for some reason the rain never came. I found the weather and scenery to be very interesting and intriguing. So I went to the old tool shed in the corner of the yard and looked around. In the back of the shed I found a lawn chair. I picked it up, dragged it out to the center of the yard and sat down. After a few moments of relaxation and amusement the weather drastically changed. It didn't get worse it seemed to getter better. All of the wind seemed to diminish, but all the clouds continued to roll through. So I got out of the chair, walked to the edge of the yard, and looked out to the ocean. The water seemed to pulsate, and moved in and out. I started to get nervous and was worried of what's to come. Right as I started to put the chair away and head inside, the sky grew unbelievably dark. I turned around in fright and was petrified to find a two hundred foot tidal wave about to land right in my back yard. With not even a second to move, I was struck by the wave with such force it pulled me away to sea. All that remained of my house was the old lawn chair propped up in my backyard.
