To improve your sprinting abilities there are many thing you can do. Drills are very common because they also help on improving you form and training your muscles to perform in the proper way. Simple drills such as high knees, butt kicks, skips, and many more can improve your time. These drills are just few of the many which are beneficial to your sprint workout. Not only can they be used to work on form but to warm up for your workouts. High knees build strength and power in your hip, increasing the drive in your sprint. Butt kicks help to develop the sprint action of the leg along with the drive of your trail leg. Skips are simple and do a lot for you. Skips create your proper foot placement and prepare your feet for every time it strikes the ground. You can tell if someone works on drills a lot because they tend to have great form. There are many things that make up sprinting and can change your overall performance. All of the top sprinters warm up with these types of drills and perform them on a daily basis. Some of these may not be easy to complete but you have to practice and learn the technique. Start out with the basic drills and work your way up to the more complicated ones. So many drills are out there and not all work for you. You have to practice and go through them to figure out which suite you best. While doing drills it is recommended to do them on a soft surface such as grass so the pounding on your feet does not strain you. You are also not recommended to wear track spikes while doing drills, so I would prefer running shoe of some sort. It is the simple things about sprinting that affects the entire outcome. Perfecting the key points is so important that you will not get any better without it. Sprinters such as Usain Bolt and Tyson gay are on routines of where they warm up with a series of stretches and drills then move onto their workout. After the workout they repeat the stretches to cool down. This kind of routine is what is needed to improve your abilities.

Sprinting is a major part of Track and Field. The form is very important and is what makes or break an athlete. To sprint you need to understand the basic running form and build up to higher levels. Sprinting is in all parts of track not just the average 100 and 200 meter distances. You sprint every time you go to make a jump, or even for the last straightaway in your distance event. You have to understand the form of sprinting is extremely important and can help all kinds of runners. The blocks are a key part of the race. The blocks are supposed to increase y our acceleration at the start of the race. To set up the blocks is all depending on the athlete. Many people change it around to what they feel the most comfortable in. For Blocks you need to make sure your keeping all your weight forward and on your shoulders. You should be on a center of gravity to where you’re ready to fall right out of the blocks when the time comes. Once the gun goes off and the race starts, you explode with your front leg and drive the trailing leg forward. This is the biggest part of the race and where many sprinters make mistakes. You want this to be as clean as possible. While all this is going on you want to remain low and exploding for the first continuing meters. Head placement is important and that you need to be focused ahead and down at the track. After a few meters the drive phase is over and you’re now in the race for the finish. Here is where the arm pump and the knee drive is crucial. This part of the race is not who’s the fastest but who slows down the least. There is no way of gaining speed at this point so it’s all hanging on to stay in the lead. Using proper form will keep you out front and running smooth. Drive your Knees upwards, pump your arms cheek to hip, and stay relaxed. There is no need to over exert yourself because it actually slows you down.

After this extreme and grueling week of school, I am so excited for it to be the weekend. The weekend to me is the greatest time. I love not having to wake up early. When I get enough sleep I feel so much better and my day goes by a lot smoother. But this weekend we have an extra day. Martin Luther King Day is this upcoming Monday and we have off of school. The three day weekend is going to be amazing and there are many things to do with this wonderful time off. I could simple sit home on the couch and watch television. This could be great being a total couch potatoe seeing how I still do not have a job. Or I could go out to the mall and find something to buy. But again this could be hard seeing that I don’t have a job again. To make the weekend interesting there is always an option f having a little too much fun, also known as doing something illegal. I could go on a rampage a hijack some cars or decide to flee the country. This could be hard though because I’m not really ready to throw my life away yet. It definitely would be interesting and not boring at all, but not the best decision. There are endless things to and I look forward to choosing one. Either way if I’m sitting at home watching TV or with friends and family it’ll still be a good time since I’m not at school. I will probably end up spending time at home for a bit with my family, and then going out with friends later on. Having three days means more sleeping in nothing is better than that. It simply cannot be topped. See you Tuesday my weekend has officially started.

The day of the super bowl is always interesting. For many it is a day where family and friends get together to have a great time and be entertained the entire day. The super bowl is a football game that even if you’re not a fan you end up watching. I myself don’t do much for the game. Usually I watch the game with a few friends and we all have a good time. We start my just watching espn and listening to what they think about the game. During this time I usually just eat snacks and food. Once the game actually starts we gather in the living room around the television. There are always a few people who get so into the game to where they are screaming and so frustrated in the way the game is going. While another is laughing at him and all excited about the game. The game is always entertaining and I love to see the competition warm up. The suspense is high and all the players are definitely feeling it. To me my favorite part is seeing them compete to their full potential and throwing it all into one game. When it is a close game it is always better because no one like a blowout. At least the viewers don’t like a blowout; we prefer a close nail biter kind of game. After the game you see some of the players overwhelming happy while others are so depressed that they have come so far and have it end up like that. But in the end there always has to be a winner and a loser. But just making it to the super bowl is a huge accomplishment, and all the players should be proud. My super bowl Sunday usually is pretty quiet and not to intense.

Social networking has limitedly affected my lifestyle. The only way it has had an impact on me is through the means of communication. The only social networking that I am involved in would be Facebook. I occasionally go on Facebook to see what some people are up to. This is mostly when I am home and have nothing to do. I will go onto the computer and just search random things. I end up going on Facebook were I just mess around for a bit. All I usually do on Facebook is check comments people make on my things or look at pictures and such that I was tagged in. The best part to me about Facebook is how easy it is to contact someone and share things like pictures or videos with them. Many people let Facebook take up most of or all their free time. They become like addicted and tend to just search people and friends and look through all their status’. It is sad to see someone spend all their time doing something so unproductive. I am never on long enough for anyone to even notice. I check for anything new like comments and I log out. I don’t let myself get stuck looking through pointless information when I could be out doing many other things. Social networking has not affected me in a way where I can say it is a big part of my life. I use it reasonably and just for short periods of time. I have nothing against it and think it is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. If it is used correctly it should not have such a great impact on your life. All it is a place to share your thoughts, chat with friends and post things. This means not much really goes on with Facebook so you should not be wasting all your time on it.

1/3-1/7 Blog 3
An average day herein online publishing has many occurrences. Once I arrive at this class I normally wait a good ten to fifteen minutes before I start my work. This is because I am so unfocused I have no idea what to do. I already did this today before I wrote this blog. Once I get started I am easily distracted by the ongoing conversations nearby and the arguments that go on in our corner of the room. I would much rather sit here and listen and laugh with the conversations going on but I am encouraged to keep working along. It is hard to stay focused tor long periods of time. I’m not sure if it’s just because i may not be very interested or that I have an attention disorder that I have not found out about. When I finally get my work done I tend on playing the worlds hardest game. It is actually called the world’s hardest game; I’m not just saying that. Or sometimes I just play it in between work. This doesn’t always work out because my internet usually ends up getting blocked. This isn’t good in any way because now I can’t play the world’s hardest game but I can’t even submit the article or blogs that I have written. This scenario kind of falls over the moment I have right now. I was just caught playing that game and my internet was taken away. Now I have to write my final blog since I have nothing to do on this computer. After, I am going to have to wait for my internet to return in order to submit this. It is a big inconvenience but is needed to get me through the day. Without all these distractions I would simple fall asleep or dread having to write this three hundred word blog.
